09. SADORA Solar Street Lighting Project
Project Overview
We partnered with Sons and Daughters of Rearlaplap, Arno (SADORA), the upbeat new NGO, to design and supply 50 Solar Streetlights to the Communities of Malel, Kilange, Tinak and Longar – Collectively known as Rearlaplap. Streetlights have to be high to avoid shading of panels, yet light for manpower lifting into position (there are no heavy equipment on Rearlaplap), and of suitable material to resist the corrosive atmosphere of the Marshall Islands, and most importantly to be sufficiently bright and have good spread. As quoted by SADORA “ Your streetlights are the best of its kind, swept away by its brightness and its ground floor coverage! Great design, easy to install, perfect for the remote communities! “
